Champion, Wey Valley and WeyFarer

Built in 1971, these three locomotives were delivered to the Ministry of Defence (MoD) Command Ammunition Depot at Eastriggs. Eventually they were moved to Lydd Ranges in Kent where they were used to transport personnel and equipment on the extensive railway system within the ranges.

Four were purchased from the MoD in 2007, however one has since been sold to Statfold Barn. The three remaining locomotives have been repainted and see regular use at the OKLR thanks to their electric start facility, much easier than the manual start handle found on most of our locomotives.
